GladGrade 4.0 Gets to Know You: New AI Voice Companion and Personal Taste Profile Make Every Grade More Meaningful

Users can now just ask, whether they're looking for a restaurant, a professor or their state senator. Meanwhile, GladGrade builds a personal understanding of each user's preferences, and shows them exactly what it has learned.

GladGrade, the consumer satisfaction platform where people grade their experiences with businesses, government services, elected officials and higher education institutions, today announced the release of GladGrade 4.0.

The headline feature is an AI-powered Voice Companion, brought to life through Gigi, GladGrade's mascot introduced in earlier versions of the app. Users tap the microphone and say what they need, the way they'd ask a friend.

Beneath it is something that sets GladGrade apart from traditional review apps. Each user gets a personal taste profile that grows from their grades, reviews and searches.

The idea is simple: the more people share their experiences, the more useful GladGrade becomes, not only for the community, but for each person contributing.

A platform that learns your taste

Traditional review platforms rely heavily on aggregated star ratings. GladGrade 4.0 starts from a different idea: the best recommendation depends on who is asking.

As people grade their experiences, GladGrade builds a picture of their preferences. It learns:

  • The cuisines and services they love
  • What tends to disappoint them
  • The habits behind their choices
  • The neighborhoods and places they explore through GladGrade

Users find this in Preferences, which works like a mirror of their own experiences. Every insight is backed by the user's own grades and reviews, so they can see why GladGrade reached that conclusion. And when something doesn't fit, they can simply tap "Not me."

The result is recommendations that feel personal. Users can ask GladGrade to suggest something new that matches their taste, or to show the parts of town they haven't explored yet. They can also ask it to recall their own past experiences: "Where was I overcharged?" or "What was the mechanic I liked last year?"

For years, people have been asked to rate their experiences, but very little of that information comes back to benefit them personally. We believe that should change. Every grade should help people make better decisions, understand their own preferences and contribute to improving the services we all depend on. And because people's time and experiences have value, GladGrade also rewards eligible contributions with GladPoints, which we intend to make redeemable for cash value as the platform grows and develops its revenue model. GladGrade 4.0 brings us closer to that vision.

Just ask

No complicated commands or menus. Just speak naturally, and Gigi helps users find answers or take action.

Gigi, GladGrade's mascot and now AI Voice Companion, understands everyday requests and acts on them:

  • Find places: "Best Cuban food near me" brings up results using GladGrade's Global Customer Satisfaction Grade (GCSG), a standardized satisfaction score ranging from 300 to 850.
  • Get answers from real people: "Is it worth it?" or "What do people complain about?" returns a short summary built from what GladGrade users actually wrote.
  • Take action: "Call the second one," "Directions to the first one," "Save it" or "Compare the first two."
  • Hear from people you follow: "What did people I follow say about this place?"
  • Get a guided tour: "Show me the home screen tour."
  • Have a little fun: "Tell me a joke." Gigi has a few.

Rather than requiring users to learn how to navigate every feature, GladGrade 4.0 lets them interact with the platform through natural conversation.

Know who represents you

GladGrade goes beyond businesses to government. Users can ask "Who is my mayor?", "Who is my state senator?" or "Who represents me?"

GladGrade identifies their officials based on their location, down to their legislative district. It then opens each official's page, where users can see constituent grades and share their own experiences.

Voice also finds government offices, for example "the DMV in Coral Gables" or "Social Security office near me."

Government coverage is most complete today in Florida and Texas, and it is expanding.

By bringing government services and elected officials into the same consumer satisfaction platform used for everyday businesses, GladGrade makes it easier for constituents to find information and contribute feedback about the public services and institutions that affect their lives.

Smarter campus choices

Students can ask "Which calculus professors at FIU have the best student feedback?" or "What's the best-rated dorm at UM?"

Answers come from other students' grades and survey responses, helping students make more informed decisions about professors, housing and campus experiences.

Now in ten languages

With Italian joining the platform in version 4.0, GladGrade now supports ten languages, making its consumer satisfaction experience accessible to a broader international audience.

The supported languages are English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), French, German, Italian, Chinese (Mandarin), Arabic, Russian and Japanese.

Building on GladGrade 3.6: the social layer

Version 4.0 builds on GladGrade 3.6, which introduced features that help turn individual experiences into a connected community.

  • Follow and be followed: Users can follow people whose taste and experiences they trust and see their public reviews. Each user decides whether their own activity is public. This social connection also gives Gigi another way to help users discover experiences shared by people they follow.
  • Public @names: Public grades display the author's unique @name, helping users recognize contributors and connect with people whose experiences they value.
  • Redesigned professor directory: More than 16,000 professors, with portraits, browsing by department and available contact details.
  • Invite codes at sign-up: New users can enter a friend's referral code when they join.
  • Stronger account security: A verified email can serve as an additional way to confirm a user's identity.

Together, these features make GladGrade more than a place to submit a grade. They help build a community where shared experiences become increasingly useful to others.

Personalization with transparency and control

GladGrade puts users in control of their experience.

The microphone activates only when they choose to use Voice Companion, and the Preferences section lets them see and correct what the app has learned from their activity.

Rather than presenting personalization as a mystery, GladGrade gives users visibility into the experiences behind its conclusions and the ability to correct preferences that don't represent them.
